Brass engraving is offered in two types of brass: brass and black brass. The traditional brass and black brass that we use for engraved plates is .020″ thick. The traditional brass has a brushed smooth surface. It has a brass lacquered face that we rotary engrave through and treat the letters chemically to turn them black. Black brass tags and black brass plates are laser engraved. When laser engraved, it burns off the black surface to reveal the beautiful gold colored brass. Brass engraving offers a professional look with smooth surfaces that are laser engraved.
